Chief Superintendent of the Accra Central Motor Traffic and Transport Directorate(MTTD), Accra Central, Agnes Caesar, has advised road users to be extra careful during this festive season.

Wrapping up the road safety discussion on Happy FM’s Happy Drivers’ Summit, she thanked God for taking Ghana through the year 2019 and went on to advise road users saying,
‘’To all those who use the road, especially drivers, from now, through to 2020, I beseech you all to drive carefully. No over-taking, no over-speeding, don’t drink and drive and don’t do drugs. Please take your time while driving so that everyone can get to their destination safely’’, she said.

Madam Agnes went on to advise pedestrians to be careful when crossing the road, and be sure to cross only where there is a zebra crossing. ‘’Where there are no road markings, please use traffic lights and be sure to cross only when the light is red’’, she added.

Not forgetting motor riders, she commented that they are the cause of most accidents and deaths in the country and pleaded that they drive safely to help reduce the rate of road accidents during the festive season.

The Happy FM Drivers’ Summit is an activity to climax Happy FM’s community engagement program Happy on Wheels. The program provides an avenue to address concerns of drivers and other road users.

The concept is also to educate drivers on the need to respect road safety regulations during and after the festive season.
