Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalisation Committee (NC) member, Naa Odofoley Nortey, says the presidential debate organized for the Ghana FA presidential aspirants had an impact on the elections.

The debate was attended by five out of the six presidential aspirants that contested in the election, with George Afriyie the only candidate to have pulled out.

The debate saw aspirants such as Amanda Clinton, Fred Pappoe, George Ankomah, Nana Yaw Amponsah and Kurt Okraku sharing their ideas and policies to be implemented when voted in to power.

The first-ever presidential debate organized by the Normalisation Committee was in partnership with Ghana’s Number one sports station Happy FM and state-broadcaster Ghana Broadcasting Corporation which was held at the Physicians and Surgeons College in Accra.

Speaking in an interview with Ohene-Brenya Bampoh on Anopa Bosuo Sports on Happy FM, she agreed to the fact that the presidential debate was able to change the minds of some delegates ahead of the election.

“Global Media Alliance, Happy FM, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation were our partners to do this and it was fantastic”.

“Clearly the naysayers who said it will not have an impact on the election, I think they have eaten their pie no further comment, she said.
