The 6km/ 10km walk and run usually organized every year on Ghana’s Independence Day is to promote regular exercising amongst the business community and families in Ghana. It also serves as a bonding opportunity for families and colleagues.

The run which started through a conversation between two men who love to run, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global Media Allaince (GMA), Mr. Ernest Boateng and the Director of lakeside Estate Mr. Salah Kwaku Kalmoni was held across four cities simultaneously (Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi and Tamale)

Prior to the event,Mr. Boateng who was getting ready to run had this to say, “I partake in the Happy FM-Marina Park Fun Run annually to build my stamina and encourage healthy living amongst staff. I am proud I can see most of the staff of GMA here today.”

Before the run started, participants were taken through a warm up session by Branch Fitness. Runners both young and old engaged in an aerobic session for proper blood circulation before the run.

After the end of the race through the mapped out routes in the lakeside estates, awards and prizes from sponsors where given to families in the various categories.
