Happy FM has started its weekly counselling sessions for the couples registered to take part in Mass wedding this year.

The counselling sessions form part of the activities that couples participate in ahead of the wedding.

The counselling sessions which began at the premises of Happy FM at Asylum Down we’re led by Allen Gyamerah-Ako, a certified marriage counselor with support from Happy FM’s Nyansa Boakwa among others.

The Happy FM Mass Wedding is a community investment initiative designed to support couples who have demonstrated their commitment and desire to spend their lives together as married couples in Holy Matrimony.

Speaking in relation to the counselling sessions, Elwoode Mantey, Programmes Manager of Happy98.9FM shared the importance of counselling before and after marriage.

“This year we are taking couples through pre-marital counselling as well as post marital counseling sessions. The reason being that counselling helps to ensure that you and your partner have a strong, healthy relationship – giving you a better chance for a stable and satisfying marriage. It can also help you identify and work on weaknesses that could become problems during marriage.”

He also revealed that this years edition will be different from the previous years.

“The sixteenth edition is going to be very exceptional because of the packages we have for the couples. We all know we are not out of the woods yet when it comes to COVID-19 and so we are putting structures in place for the safety of the couples, their families and everyone who will attend the wedding. We also have a lot of gifts for our couples which will set them off on this journey right,” he said.

Though the Programmes Manager assured that, the packages will be revealed in the coming days, he stated that the 2022 edition is a garden wedding.

“Weddings have moved from church to destination weddings among others. This year we are giving our couples a garden wedding. The couples will be joined in Holy Matrimony at the Wan Shi Gardens in Asylum Down,” he revealed.

He also thanked ATL and other sponsors for supporting the brand to give the couples a wedding to remember.

We can’t achieve success without the input of our sponsors and supporters. I am especially grateful to HD+, Tasty Tom jollof mix, EDC investments limited, ATL, PMI Logistics, Wan- Shi Gardens, Awake Purified Drinking Water, College of Counselling and Psychology, Cake Tekniks, Aliquah Home of Fashion, Adwen Clothing, Purple Protocols, Silver Hair Cut and Silver Hair, 2nd Image and Twinnie Krafts,” he said.

The 2022 edition of Mass Wedding comes off at Wan- Shi Gardens on Monday, 14th February.
