Happy FM, in collaboration with Promasidor and Olam – distributors of Royal Aroma Rice– has donated assorted food items and beverages to the National Chief Imam to mark the Eid-UI-Fitr celebrations.

The three organizations on June 7 presented some items including 10 bags of 5×5 Royal Aroma rice, several boxes of Miksi and cowbell products and other souvenirs to the Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) .

Speaking on behalf of Olam, Augustina Arhin, a marketing representative from Olam said “ As a customer centric brand we want to show our love for our Muslim brothers. We brought 10 bags of 5×5 Royal Aroma rice to the chief Imam.’’

“On the June 15, there will be a cooking competition between 10 zongo communities. We will provide the rice for the competition and also sample members of the community. We will also have price packages. We intend to continue to do this initiative yearly because the Muslim communities patronize our products a lot,” she said.

Meanwhile, Linda Nartey , Brand Manager for Onga, who spoke on behalf of Promisador, said “we are here to donate our range of products to the Chief Imam. We have been doing this for the past four years and we intend to continue every year.’’

‘’For the upcoming cooking challenge, we are providing Onga food seasoning to help the competitors cook delicious local dishes. We will also refresh every single person who comes to the Lorry Park in front of the Chief Imam’s house with our cowbell variants,” she stated.

According to Emmanuel Akrumah, programs manager of Happy FM, the main aim of the donation to the Islamic leader was because Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu has contributed to the peace and development of Ghana.

“This donation also forms part of our Corporate Social Responsibility since our Muslim brothers and sisters also form part of our loyal listeners,” he added.

However, this year, the holy month began on May 6 ended on the evening of June 4, 2019. Throughout the period, Muslims undertook dawn-dusk fasting which primarily entails abstinence from food, drink, marital intimacy and any such prohibitions as instructed by Allah.
