HE Dr. Bawumia congratulated the entire team for lifting the flag of Ghana high in Abidjan.

“As a government, we are really committed to supporting our women in sports to realize their potential on both on and off the pitch. I spoke to the president and in recognition of this major honor you have done for Ghana, I am on his behalf giving you GHC50,000 .”-he stated

“I want you to know that in me, you have someone who will champion not only the course of Hasaacas Ladies but women’s football in Ghana. So you can expect me at some of your matches Insha Allah.”

The reigning Ghana Women’s Premier League and Women’s FA Cup champions defeated Rivers Angels 3:1 in the final to lift the trophy on 5th August,2021 at the Stade Robert Champroux.

His Excellency confessed that , he had sleepless nights prior to the game .

“The final game gave me sleepless nights because we were playing Nigeria and I didn’t have a sense of how strong the Nigerian team was but you know whenever Ghana is playing Nigeria in any competition even in eating jollof is a major matter .”

“Lo and behold you won the competition. The win was good but beating Nigeria was extra sweet. I was able to tease a few of my Nigerian friends. “-he added.

The Vice President earlier on supported the team with $10,000 before their departure for Abidjan.
