Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has urged newly posted medical officers to report to their assigned district health facilities without delay.
According to the Minister, the decision to post doctors to various regions rather than concentrating them in Greater Accra is not a form of punishment. He noted that some regions have recorded zero reporting from doctors who have been duly posted.
The Ministry has therefore given the affected officers a one-week ultimatum to report to their duty stations.
Mr. Akandoh also provided a regional breakdown of doctors who have reported so far, describing the figures as “not encouraging.”
