Go and make Ghana proud, SWAG urges Hearts

Hearts of Oak Board member, Thomas Esso, has denied reports in the media that the team’s poor run of form in the ongoing Ghana Premier League is as a result of a lack of motivation.

The Phobians are still without a win after matchday four in the ongoing campaign.

The defending champions were also handed their first defeat of the season by AshantiGold on Sunday which has piled a lot of pressure on head coach Samuel Boadu following the poor start to the season.

Responding to comments of low motivation affecting the team’s performance, Thomas Esso said, Hearts of Oak’s problems are not motivation-related as the players have been well motivated since winning the double last season.
“When Hearts of Oak won the double the players were treated very well as at the end of last season”, he told Happy FM.

“The money we got for winning the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup were all given to the players. The club didn’t keep a penny. I don’t think the problem has to do with money. Because the season hasn’t started well some people are trying to find excuses.

“The players are very motivated. It is still early days yet in the season and more matches will be played”
The Hearts board member urged Coach Samuel Boadu not to give up as the team is solidly behind him and also urged the players to lift their performance on the field.
