Togbe Afede XIV, the Chairman and Majority Shareholder of Hearts of Oak has disclosed the club’s intention to build a new stadium as part of its progress in developing their infrastructure.

A modern Sports Complex in Pobiman is nearing completion after two years of construction by the club as part of its development infrastructure.

According to the club’s chairman, Togbe Afede XIV, after the completion of the Pobiman Sports project, the construction a new 25,000-seat stadium would begin.

The Pobiman Project, when completed, will be housed with a Staff Residence, Senior Housing Unit, GYM, Training Centers (Pitches), Laundry, Swimming Pool, Lockers, Toilet Facilities, Kitchen, and Dining Hall.

“After the Pobiman is done, the only thing we don’t have is a big stadium,” he said.

“CAF requires a minimum 25,000 capacity stadium. After all this, that is what we want to do. I can assure you that the board, as visionary and future-oriented as it is, has already started looking for land for that stadium. We are ticking all the boxes but it is not easy.”

Having placed 12th in last season’s Ghana Premier League, the Phobians as part of its plans to rejuvenate the club to its glory days will be looking to have players and a technical team in good shape.

They are however yet to appoint a new coach as the new season looms having appointed Dutch coach Rene Haddick as the club’s technical director.

They will play Real Tamale United in their opening 2023/24 betPawa GPL season next season.
