The High Court in Koforidua, presided over by Justice Addae, has dismissed a petition challenging the election of Frank Annoh-Dompreh as Member of Parliament (MP) for the Nsawam/Adoagyiri Constituency.

This ruling solidifies his position as the elected representative and brings an end to the legal battle.

The petition, filed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and spearheaded by parliamentary candidate Fummey Selorm Philibert, alleged that the Electoral Commission’s declaration of Annoh-Dompreh’s victory was based on incorrect result sheets and violated electoral laws.

The NDC had vowed to exhaust all legal avenues to contest the outcome.

On February 25, the court issued a substituted order requiring Annoh-Dompreh, the Electoral Commission, and the Clerk of Parliament to appear in court.

However, after reviewing an application filed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Director of Legal Affairs, Gary Nimako Marfo, the court ruled in favor of Annoh-Dompreh.

In addition to dismissing the petition, the court imposed a cost of GH₵25,000 on the petitioner.
