The Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has downplayed growing speculation about her possible appointment as Ghana’s Minister for Defence.

The position became vacant following the tragic death of Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, prompting discussions about a potential replacement.

Rumours intensified after a March 23, 2026 social media post by Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress.

The post featured a photo of himself with Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings, accompanied by a message urging patience and consistency, which many supporters interpreted as a hint of an impending appointment.

The speculation gained further traction following the circulation of a video on Wednesday, March 25, showing Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings heading to the Chamber of Parliament. In the footage sighted by happyghana.com, some unidentified voices referred to her as “incoming,” suggesting she could soon be named to a ministerial position by President John Dramani Mahama.

Responding to the claims, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings appeared to dismiss the rumours, saying with a smile, “Guys, I don’t know about that.”
