Bernard Ahiafor, the Chairman of Appointments Committee of Parliament, has emphatically denied taking money from any of the ministerial nominees before vetting.

His comments come in response to allegations by private legal practitioner and activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor, who accused him of taking bribes from ministerial nominees prior to their vetting and called on him to undergo an oral inquiry.

Speaking on why the vetting for the Ministry of Defense minster designate, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah delayed, Bernard Ahiafor said…

“I’m ever ready to submit myself to ORAL. We need to stop certain attitudes. So, therefore I Benarad Ahiafor, and the chairman of the committee want to place it on record that myself and the committee members don’t  demand money from any nominees before vetting and approval” he stated.

The Chairman has also invited Oliver Baker Vormawor to appear before the committee and present evidence to back up the allegations he had made.
