Former Presidential Staffer Ibrahim Adjei has criticized former President John Dramani Mahama for remaining silent in the aftermath of violent incidents that disrupted the Ablekuma North election rerun.

Adjei described Mahama’s silence as “deeply disappointing,” especially in light of the chaos that characterized the elections. He alleged that activists from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were responsible for the disturbances and pointed to videos circulating on social media that, he claims, show individuals being mobilized to disrupt the polls.

“President Mahama’s silence is deafening. He must speak up. We have seen the videos. The country deserves to know where he stands on this violence,” Adjei stated.

He called on the president to publicly condemn the violence and distance himself from the alleged perpetrators. Adjei further challenged the government and security agencies to produce evidence if members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were involved, but insisted that the NDC should be held accountable for the unrest.

He also urged the authorities to conduct a swift and impartial investigation and to ensure that all individuals found culpable—regardless of political affiliation—are brought to justice.
