There are so many hits in the country and many music lovers dance to them on a daily basis, but do the makers of these songs make any money out of them as this a business for them?

Former member of the duo Dobble, Ennwai has the answer to this. According to him, a good song is not enough to make a musician good money.

He said before the group released their number one biggest hit ‘Christy’ people paid very little attention to them.

“One thing about the Music industry that surprises me is that when we released ‘Tsofi’, ‘Emana’ and the likes, honestly people didn’t really give us attention, even our social media handles were not doing so well, the ground breaking hit was Christy,” he revealed this to DJ Advicer, host of Happy FM’s ‘Ayekoo’ after drive show.

“In Ghana if you don’t have a hit that is number one in the country, you don’t make any money. You can tour the whole of Ghana and still not make anything. Most of our shows were for appreciation and charity, but to keep the brand going we pretended all was well,” he added.

‘Christy’ won them the most popular song of the year award at the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA).
