Minister of Finance, Dr. Ato Forson has urged Ghanaians to disregard media reports that he has authorized payment to be paid to former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong for a government contract.
According to Dr. Ato Forson, no contract payment authorization has been given by him to any contractor since he assumed office as the Minister of Finance.
He stated in a social media post that he is reviewing all payment requests of contracts given by president Akufo-Addo before any authorization can be made for payments.
“Friends, since I took office, no contractor including Kennedy Agyapong has been paid a pesewa. We are currently conducting a comprehensive review of all contracts and payment requests to verify their legitimacy.”
“Please disregard any claims suggesting that I have authorized payment to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong or any other contractor,” Dr. Ato Forson wrote on his X page as sighted by Happy News.
