President Akufo-Addo is saying that, the 14th Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, Justice Anin Yeboah, will be an effective leader of the Judiciary and guard jealously its independence to bring honour to the Judiciary.

The president addressing the investiture ceremony of the Mr. Anin Yeboah at the Jubilee House said “the choice of Mr. Anin Yeboah as the 14th Chief Justice was not a difficult one to make, in view of his level of qualification, the number of years served with distinction on the Bench in the Superior Court of Judicature, totalling seventeen years, initially in the High Court, then at the Court of Appeal, and, finally, at the Supreme Court, and the considerable experience garnered as a result.”

He however believes that the Chief Justice will be an effective leader. “I am sure that Mr. Justice Anin Yeboah will be an effective leader of the Judiciary, guard jealously its independence, bring honour to the Judiciary and to our country, and be a worthy successor to Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo. I expect decency, discipline, fairness, hard work, deep seated respect for the rule of law, and the continuing modernisation of judicial activities to be the hallmarks, too, of his era as Chief Justice.”

“I assure Chief Justice Anin Yeboah that I will be a trusted partner of the Judiciary so that the Executive and the Judiciary can co-operate in the spirit of mutual respect to promote Good Governance for the advancement of people.” the President opined.

Justice Anin-Yeboah, a well-seasoned law enforcer, was appointed to the Supreme Court by former President John Agyekum Kuffuor in June 2008.

He has also served as a Justice of the High Court, and a Justice of the Court of Appeal.

In addition, he is a part-time lecturer in Civil Procedure and the Ghana Legal System at the Ghana School of Law.

Prior to that, he had served as a Justice of the High Court from 2002 to 2003 and a Justice of the Court of Appeal from 2003 to 2008.

Justice Anin Yeboah’s name is also associated with football. In May 2017, he was appointed the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).

He also served as the Chairman of the Appeal’s Committee of the Ghana Football Association from 2004 to 2008.
