The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has assured applicants to the Ghana Prison Service of a transparent and fair recruitment process, as he visited the Prisons and Borstal Recruitment Screening Centre at Roman Ridge to observe the ongoing exercise.
During the visit, the Minister emphasized that no applicant would be unfairly disadvantaged, stressing the government’s commitment to merit-based recruitment.
He warned applicants against falling victim to scammers and middlemen who promise recruitment slots in exchange for money, describing such practices as illegal and fraudulent.
Mohammed-Mubarak noted that strict measures have been put in place to clamp down on corrupt practices within the recruitment process, adding that any staff found engaging in misconduct would face severe sanctions. He urged applicants to follow the laid-down procedures and rely only on official communication from the Ghana Prison Service.
The Minister further encouraged young Ghanaians interested in serving the nation through the Prison Service to prepare adequately for the next stages of the recruitment process. He advised applicants to ensure they have all required documents, including academic certificates, birth certificates or passports, and any other credentials specified by the Service.
He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to building a professional, disciplined, and credible Ghana Prison Service through a recruitment process that is open, fair, and free from corruption.
