The former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Ishmael Ashitey, has passed on at the age of 67, top government officials have announced.
Ashitey died on Friday 7 January 2022 at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema.
“My condolences to the Ashitey family on the passing of Mr. Ishmael Ashitey, who was an ex- Minister of State, former Tema East MP and NPP regional chairman. My thoughts are with them at this difficult period,” the Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia said in a Facebook post.
Ashitey served as the MP for the Tema East constituency from the second to fourth parliaments of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.
