Ghanaian actor and politician, John Setor Dumelo earlier today took a stroll backwards from the entrance of the University of Ghana to the entrance of Presbytarian Boys’ Secondary school (PRESEC) to fulfil a promise made on social media.

He made the promise in a bid to show how much confidence he had in his alma mater, Achimota Senior High School to win against Presbytarian Boys’ Secondary School and Opoku Ware Secondary School at the Grand finale of the National Science and Math Quiz.

Dumelo took to his X page on Sunday, October 22 2023, and said, “I am a proud Achimotan but if PRESEC wins the #NSMQ 2023 on the 31st I will walk barefoot backwards from Ayawaso West Wuogon to Presec School; they can’t win over Motown; Presec?; tweaaa”

After a breath-taking performance and the showmanship of knowledge in sciences by each school, the Presbytarian Boys’ Secondary School emerged winners. The philanthropist on the night of the flawless victory took to his social media page to congratulate the schools and notify social media users about his eagerness to fulfill his promise made a week earlier.

Many social media users gathered at the grounds to show support and appreciate him for the exhibition of integrity, while others watched a live feed of the walk from his page on X.

The 2023 edition of the National Maths and Science Quiz took place at the National Theatre on Monday, 30 October 2023. The reigning champions, Presbytarian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC) , came head to head with Achimota Senior High School (Motown) and Opoku Ware Senior High School (OWASS) to compete for the trophy.

The quiz ended with Presbytarian Boys’ Secondary School leading with 42 points, Achimota Senior High School with 28 points and Opoku Ware Senior High School with 20 points.
