The National Women’s Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kate Gyamfuah has denied claims in the media that Ghanaians complaining about the current state of the economy are lazy.

Kate Gyamfuah in a statements said, “I wish to put on record that the words attributed to me were never uttered by me and call on the general public to disregard the news item and treat it with the contempt it deserves.”

Below is the full press statements:

RE – ‘GHANA IS HARD FOR THOSE WHO ARE LAZY’ – NPP WOMEN’S ORGANIZER KATE GYAMFUA TO GHANAIANS

My attention has been drawn to a news publication by mynewsgh.com alluding to the fact that I am trying to insult or ridicule the hardworking Ghanaian populace.

I wish to put on record that the words attributed to me were never uttered by me and call on the general public to disregard the news item and treat it with the contempt it deserves.

Whiles addressing a section of the market men and women at Atonsu in Kumasi during a recent visit of the Second lady to the Ashanti Region I called on Ghanaians to take advantage of the good policies initiated and implemented by the Akufo Addo government. I stated that in the history of the world, no government can distribute goodies for free for all of its citizens. I however emphasized that, that notwithstanding, a good government is the one that implement good policies for its citizens to thrive on those policies.

It is therefore intriguing that this simple encouraging message meant to get Ghanaians to take advantage of the good policies of the akufo – Addo government can be misconstrued as insulting to Ghanaians.

I therefore call on all Ghanaians to disregard the said news item and treat it with all the contempt it deserves.
