Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has called on the Government of Ghana to seize the assets of Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1) including his plane to pay the customers of his embattled gold firm, MenzGold.

Speaking on Adom TV on Tuesday as monitored by Happyghana.com, Ken Agyapong said the seizures must happen as a means of helping the customers get back their deposits.

“Whether Menzgold, Ideal finance or whatever, government must seize their assets and sell to defray the debts of the customers…why is the guy’s still using planes, lots of Land Cruisers…,” he charged on the show.

Customers of the embattled gold firm have been amassing at their offices daily to demand the payment of their deposits.

Some of the angry customers have been sleeping at the offices of Menzgold to demand their payments.

The company has argued that it has reached an agreement with its customers to scrap the payment of dividends to them.

The agreement is said to have been reached at a crunch meeting between Menzgold, customers and stakeholders on October 7, 2018 at Korkdam Hotel.

They have since that time given several dates for paying customers which has all failed.

One of their customers, who is a Pastor of the Presby Church has sued the gold firm to demand the payment of his dividends.

And Ken agrees that should be the way to go because the ‘small boy’ is not ready to pay the monies he owes customers.

To him, the NPP government must try to absolve itself from blame by causing the security agencies to seize the assets of NAM1 and Menzgold to defray their debts.
