Kotoko coach, Kjetil Zachariassen refused to resign from his post according to his agent Charles Kouadio.

The club’s supporters have called for the sacking of the Danish trainer after the team’s elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup play-offs against San Pedro on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors lost the game by 2-1 on aggregate.

After the game, irate fans that travelled to Abidjan to support the team were seen captured in a video calling for the coach to be sacked.

Happy Sports understands that, management of Asante Kotoko have asked the coach to resign and his safety cannot be guaranteed when he returns to Kumasi.

The team arrived in Ghana without their head coach who is still in Ivory Coast.

In an interview on Anopa Bosuo Sports on Happy FM, Charles Kouadio explained the coach is still in Ivory Coast which management is aware of despite reports he is missing.

“ Zachariassen is not missing; he is in Ivory Coast. He was left behind because Management said they cannot guarantee his safety for now”.

He said, “the Chairman, Dr Kwame Kyei told me personally after the match when we went back to the hotel”.

“The supporters vented their anger at the hotel and he told me that, it could get worst if we travel with him to Kumasi. I informed the management that we had to leave the hotel due to security reasons. He was always by my side, he never left the hotel”.

On the issue, if his client will return to Ghana to continue as head coach he said, “It depends on management. I know the supporters are hurt but with time they will heal and the coach will return”.

“I passed the information from the club to him that he should resign but he told me he’s not going to resign”, he concluded.
