The Member of Parliament for the Madina Constituency, Francis-Xavier Sosu, has officially submitted his nomination forms to contest in the upcoming December 7, 2024, parliamentary elections.
The submission took place on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Madina office of the Electoral Commission. Scores of enthusiastic supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were seen accompanying their candidate as he made his way from the NDC party office in Madina to the EC’s premises.
The supporters, many clad in party colors, walked alongside the MP in a show of solidarity, chanting and singing NDC songs throughout the route.
The atmosphere was filled with cultural significance as traditional leaders were spotted pouring libation and offering prayers. This traditional act symbolized the community’s blessings and support for Francis-Xavier Sosu’s candidacy, with many believing it to be a call for divine favor ahead of the elections.
The December 7 elections are expected to be keenly contested, with Francis-Xavier Sosu vying to retain his seat for the NDC amidst growing interest in the Madina constituency.
