John Abdulai Jinapor, the Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu and former Deputy Energy Minister, has revealed that President John Mahama has directed the Chief of Staff to convene an emergency meeting with stakeholders in the power sector to address the impending energy crisis.

He disclosed that the meeting will involve various power generation companies in the country to find ways to stabilise power supply and prevent ‘dumsor’.

Speaking in an interview on an Accra based TV station he said, “Today at 10 am, His Excellency the President instructed that the Chief of Staff chairs a meeting with all stakeholders.

He revealed that, “GRIDCo, WAPCo, VRA, GNPC, BOST, and all relevant stakeholders are expected to attend the meeting stating that the purpose of the meeting is to find solutions to the challenges that “I have enumerated”.

“Last night, we conducted a lot of technical work and have put several options on the table, which will be discussed during the meeting. His Excellency will be briefed, and I’m confident he will provide instructions to the Chief of Staff” the MP revealed.
