No allegation of wrongdoing has been proven against me 7 years after being out of office – John Mahama Flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress, Former President John Dramani Mahama, says he is not surprised the government has not been able to find anything incriminating about him seven years after leaving office as the president of the republic. He says despite several allegations leveled against him after leaving office, none has been proven. “…..I have been out of office for more than 7 years and 7 months, no allegation of wrongdoing has been proven against me, including the baseless Airbus Brouhaha that this government attempted to cloth me with”, Mr. Mahama said. Speaking at the 10th anniversary commemoration of the late P.V Obeng, the NDC flag bearer drew similarities between himself and the late P.V Obeng citing a case where the late statesman was exonerated by CHRAJ in a case where P.V Obeng was accused of owning a number of houses built with state funds during the Late Former President Rawling’s tenure as a president. Touting the willingness of members of the NDC to ensure probity and accountability, he said members of the NDC do not place themselves above society. He also praised the honesty and humility with which party members subject themselves to investigations by state investigative bodies when the basis for it arises. Former President John Dramani Mahama, has however expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the OSP’s investigations into the Airbus bribery scandal which exonerated him and his brother of any wrongdoing. Commenting on the issue for the first time after the OSP made its investigative report on the case public last Thursday 8th of August, 2024, Mr. Mahama said he felt great that once again he has been vindicated. “Once again today, I say it is a pleasant feeling to stand vindicated”, Mr. Mahama shared. The Office of the Special Prosecutor on Thursday 8th August, 2024 released a full report on the Airbus bribery scandal and identified the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama as the GO1 named preliminary report. However, Mr. Kissi Agyebeng revealed, during a press conference to make the report public, that Mr. Mahama as well as his brother Foster Mahama, did no wrong in the processes of the transaction. The special prosecutor further revealed that he has sent a notice to INTERPOL to undo the red notice on Mr. Foster Mahama, the brother of Mr. John Mahama. Sefah-Danquah

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has kicked off his Building Ghana Tour in the Northern Region.

During the two-day tour, the opposition NDC leader will visit the Mion, Gushegu, and Yendi constituencies on Monday, 5th February 2024.

Day two of the tour includes activities in the four constituencies within Tamale Township (Tamale Central, Tamale North, Tamale South, and Sagnarigu constituencies).
