A young man, believed to be 21 years has been arrested in connection with a goat theft incident at Assin Okyiso in the Assin South District of the Central Region.
The suspect was apprehended by community members in a nearby bush after his accomplices fled the scene, escaping with their operational vehicle.
The stolen vehicle, a Toyota Camry with registration number GE 7075-23, was reportedly rented from Cape Coast for the operation.
Authorities have since recovered the car along with eight goats most of which are pregnant as exhibits for investigation.
Sadly, one of the goats did not survive.
The suspect is currently in police custody at Assin Darmang, assisting with ongoing investigations.
Police have yet to release an official statement on the incident as they work to uncover further details.
