A devastating fire has destroyed hundreds of shops and mechanic workshops at Sofoline Magazine in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The blaze started around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, and quickly spread through several structures, including workshops and vehicles undergoing repairs. Large quantities of spare parts, equipment, and other goods were completely burnt.
Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service were promptly deployed and managed to bring the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties.
Although no casualties were recorded, the incident has left many shop owners and mechanics counting their losses. Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.
