The presentation of the 2024 mid-year budget review to Parliament has been postponed due to the absence of the minority caucus.

According to reports, the Minority MPs are protesting the delay in receiving their common fund.

Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, is set to present the 2024 Mid-Year Budget Review in Parliament today, Tuesday, July 23, 2024.

The review will update the House on the implementation of the government’s 2024 Budget, offering revised financial plans and an updated economic outlook for Ghana.

In a statement dated Monday, July 22, the Ministry indicated that the review would provide an update on the implementation of the 2024 budget, detailing the economic and fiscal performance for the first half of the year.

The review will cover growth measures, revenue, expenditure performance, financing, and debt sustainability.

Meanwhile, the minority members have expressed dissatisfaction over the delayed disbursement of the common fund, which they consider crucial for fulfilling their parliamentary duties and responsibilities.

However, the Member of Parliament for Dormaa East, Paul Twum-Barimah, informed Channel One News’ parliamentary correspondent, Nii Ayikwei Okine, that the minority members are currently in a caucus meeting and are not boycotting the Finance Minister’s presentation.
