The Ministry of Transport has announced dedicated contact numbers for the public to report drivers who charge unapproved fares, as part of efforts to ensure fairness and protect commuters from exploitation.
At a press conference on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, the Minister for Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, appealed to commercial drivers across the country to adhere strictly to transport regulations and treat passengers with respect. He emphasized that the Ministry will not hesitate to sanction drivers who take advantage of commuters, especially during peak periods and festive seasons.
The Ministry has therefore provided two hotline numbers 0243062953 and 024865803 for the public to report any instances of overcharging or other malpractices.
According to the Ministry, the initiative aims to promote transparency, ensure fair business practices within the transport sector, and strengthen accountability among commercial drivers.
The Transport Ministry is urging the public to make use of the hotlines whenever necessary to help curb the growing concerns over arbitrary fare charges.
