Music producer cum artiste, Ephraim Churchill Gakpertor known in showbiz circles as Ephraim, has lamented that music production done for Ghanaian artistes does not pay.

Speaking in an interview with DJ Advicer, host of Happy FM’s ‘Ayekoo After Drive Show’, the ‘where you dey’ hit maker said…
“When a producer is being paid to produce a song, he or she is being paid for his or her time and efforts in producing the song not their talent and creative skills”, he said.
He added that the Ghanaian industry has not gotten to the stage where negotiations should go to the extent of royalties, as structures are not in place to aid producers do these. “The songs people listen to are our talent and creative works.”

He continued to say that when artistes get signed up and get endorsements, the producers must have a percentage from all the payments they get. “When an artiste pays for the production of their songs, it should not end there.”

He also disclosed that he is not in competition with anyone and there is no competition in the game meanwhile the sky is big enough for everyone to soar in.

“Irrespective of skills as a musician, one must learn to play at least one instrument and Ephraim plays at least three instruments and is still learning”, he revealed.

Epraim is currently promoting his new single dubbed ‘Insane’ .
