One talent that is looked down upon in Ghana is dancing. Because there is the perception that dancers do not last after SHS. Well one young man who has proven critics wrong is Dancegod Lloyd born Lloyd Konadu. Dancegod Lloyd who is the co-founder of popular ghanaian dance group Dance with Purpose Academy (DWP) was interviewed on Y 97.9 FM Takoradi’s Dryve Of Your Lyfe by Nana Quasi-Wusu (PM).

The dancer who happens to be one of the lead choreographers in Beyonce’s Already video with Shatta Wale, made a lot of revelations about his journey as a dancer. One of the major experiences he shared with PM was his first pay as a professional dancer. He shared the story of how he went for a shoot and the guy in charge gave him 20 cedis for transport and said he will call him because he was busy with the people on set but he never did. Also, speaking on how he bagged his dance role in the Already video, “I took part in the Already dance challenge and I was lucky to be part of the already dance challenge collection Beyonce put on her story.

Later on, I had a call to be one of Beyonce’s choreographers for the Already official video.”

Advising upcoming dancers, he said “I always tell my young talents that you need to believe in yourself because when you do, others will also believe in you. Try and flee from bad energy.” Dancegod Lloyd alongside Dance with Purpose Academy (DWP-Academy) are working on a dance album which will be about their journey as dancers.
