In a bid to get things done and done well in the country, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo keeps his appointees on their toes to discharge their duties to make the country a better place to live in, according to the Minister for Works and Housing, Samuel Atta Akyea.

” . . he (President Akufo-Addo) is committed to his work and to making sure his appointees do the right thing,” he said in an interview.

He made this remark while discussing the issue of flood and the predicted heavy rains by the Ghana Meteorological Service.

The Minister said the President is committed to making the issue of floods a thing of the past.

“We have a President who does not allow us to sleep . . . I’m telling you something very serious, the kind of strength the man(Akufo-Addo) is supervising us with is overwhelming . . .The President wants to make a difference and I am backing him on that . . . get in or get out if you think you can’t meet his standards, his standards are very high . . . ,” he said of the President.

Speaking further on the rains, he said government will do its part in putting things in place to prevent floods, but urged Ghanaians to also do their part by not building on waterways and not dumping rubbish indiscriminately.
