Nana Yaw Kumi, Highlife musician and Zylofon Music signee has disclosed that Zylofon boss Nana Appiah Mensah has not profited from his label’s signees yet.
CEO of Zylofon Media, has signed artists such as Kumi Guitar, Stonebwoy, Becca, Shatta Wale, Joyce Blessing, and movie stars such as Benedicta Gafah, Too Sweet Annan among others.
According to Bulldog who is currently Zylofon’s head of talent scouting and artistic development, Nana Appiah Mensah has pumped about 30 million dollars into the showbiz industry.
On the Delay show, Kumi Guitar asserted that, “I think for now, we haven’t started giving back to Nana Appiah, because he has given more than we have given to him.”
When asked if he thinks Nana Appiah is being exploited, he replied saying;
“He has a plan, when he associates with people, he doesn’t do it for the mere sake of association. He has what he wants as well, so if you can’t satisfy what he is looking for, he’ll disassociate himself from you at a point in time.”
The ‘dream’ hitmaker threw some light on his personal way of giving back to his investor
“I have an album to release, I take money for promotions. What am I giving back to the company to sell?, an album.”
“I need to make sure the name Zylofon is everywhere, it’s a form of help I’m giving back to the person investing in me.”
He declared that if Zylofon goes down, he goes down with it; “If Zylofon is a mountain. I’ll stand on the top, but if it becomes a valley, I’ll go down with it because I’m a part of it.”
According to Nana Yaw Kumi, he has new projects like the ‘Taxi One Gallon’ project coming up soon. This project according to him is not only to create awareness for his brand but also to promote the company’s products as well.
