Deputy National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ruth Dela Seddoh has launched a scathing attack on the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr MahamuduBawumia for his failure to address Ghana’s economic challenges. She accused him of being the embodiment of hypocrisy and dishonesty, citing his broken promises and contradictory actions.

Seddoh pointed out that Akufo-Addo had promised to shift the country’s economy from taxation to production by bringing in Dr. Bawumia as Vice President, touting him as the economic messiah. However, she noted that the NPP-led government has instead introduced 41 new taxes since taking office, contradicting their initial promise and further burdening already struggling Ghanaians.

In a sarcastic remark, Ruth Seddoh joked that Ghana’s ancestors foresaw the emergence of a leader like Bawumia, hence the existence of names like “Atoro” and “Nnaadaa,” which she implied meant “liar.” This, she said, was a testament to the fact that Ghanaians have always been aware of the dangers of dishonest leadership.

She emphasized that the NPP government has done little to improve the economy and have instead prioritized the implementation of numerous taxes that exacerbate the struggles of ordinary Ghanaians. She called on Ghanaians to hold the NPP government accountable for their actions and to demand better leadership that prioritizes the welfare of citizens over political expediency.
