According to Deputy Minister of Works and Housing and Member of Parliament for Kwesimintsim, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is engaged in a deliberate effort to discredit and slander the reputation of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) running mate.

Dr. Armah highlighted the NDC’s attempts to discredit Dr. Opoku Prempeh, who was introduced as the NPP’s running mate with great fanfare, are driven by fear of his impressive credentials and charismatic leadership, according to Dr. Armah.

Drawing from his personal experience working alongside Dr. Opoku Prempeh at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Armah endorsed his former boss, saying, “I’ve seen firsthand his unwavering commitment to achieving results. If you’re looking for a leader who delivers tangible outcomes, Dr. Opoku Prempeh is the ideal choice”.

Dr. Armah responded to the NDC’s criticisms, stating, “In our cultural setting, it’s common for confidence to be misinterpreted as arrogance, and humility to be misconstrued as timidity. The NDC’s efforts to portray Dr. Opoku Prempeh as arrogant will not gain traction, as his confidence and competence are evident to all.
