The National Identification Authority (NIA) has suspended its indefinite strike, clearing the way for the full resumption of registration and ID-related services across the country from Monday, June 30, 2025.
In a public notice issued on Sunday, June 29, and signed by the Head of Corporate Affairs, Williams Ampomah E. Darlas, the Authority said the decision was reached after extensive discussions with key stakeholders, including the National Labour Commission (NLC), Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), Ministry of Finance, and the leadership of the Public Services Workers’ Union (PSWU).
The strike, which disrupted national ID registration services for several days, has now been called off, allowing operations to return to normal.
The NIA apologized for the inconvenience caused during the period and expressed gratitude to the public for their patience and understanding.
The Authority also reaffirmed its commitment to providing “quality, efficient, and reliable identification services” as part of its national mandate.
