Minister Designate for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has outlined his plans to simplify passport application and renewal process in Ghana.

According to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, people with Ghana cards do not need to visit passport offices for registration or renewal of passports.

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu stated that a system will be created for people with Ghana cards to apply for passports from home and receive it via courier without going to the offices.

“I have already started engaging Hon. Sam George, the Minister of Communication so that you don’t need to go to the passport office if you have a Ghana card. It should be possible for you to be able to sit at home and apply for your passport.”

“I want to end this business of going back to the passport office for your passport, its so outmoded. We can engage courier services to send your passport at home or your office,” Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa stated.
