Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has reaffirmed his commitment to accountability and transparency in government contracts.

In a Facebook post on Ghana’s 68th Independence Day, Mr. Ablakwa praised President John Dramani Mahama for demonstrating that frugal and low-cost celebrations can still be impressive.

He stressed that this principle should be applied across sectors to ensure efficient use of state resources.

“This is why I am resolved that during my tenure as Foreign Minister, there will be no single-sourced contracts, every single contract will be competitive, transparent and must have a value-for-money report,” he wrote.

He also emphasized a strict stance against inflated projects and unfair deals.

“There shall be zero tolerance for inflated projects and sweetheart deals,” Mr. Ablakwa wrote.
