In a bid to enhance education in rural communities, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has donated laptops to newly posted teachers in underserved areas within his constituency.
A total of 36 teachers are benefiting from this initiative, which aims to support and motivate educators who take up assignments in remote locations.
Mr. Ablakwa expressed his appreciation of these teachers, stating, “This gesture is our way of showing appreciation to teachers who accept postings to rural communities in my beloved constituency. We want them to feel welcomed and valued.”
The laptop distribution forms part of a broader strategy to improve teaching and learning outcomes in North Tongu.
In a facebook post, the MP also announced plans to expand teacher-focused programs, including continuous professional development sessions, scholarship schemes, and annual awards for outstanding educators.
“These policies are designed to help retain teachers, motivate them, and ultimately improve the quality of education delivered to our children,” he emphasized.
