The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has reiterated the party’s commitment to organising a free, fair, and transparent presidential primary as preparations for its internal elections gather momentum.
Addressing a press conference in Accra, Mr. Kodua Frimpong announced the creation of an Intra-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) a consultative body made up of party leadership, the Presidential Elections Committee, and representatives of all presidential aspirants.
He explained that the committee holds regular meetings to deliberate on issues, address concerns, and refine the roadmap towards the primaries.
“In our quest to ensure a transparent and credible process, the party, together with the Presidential Elections Committee, has established an Intra-Party Advisory Committee. This body engages all aspirants or their representatives to discuss matters and streamline procedures ahead of the primaries,” Mr. Kodua stated.
He further disclosed that the NPP had completed a nationwide constituency album verification and validation exercise to authenticate the party’s voter register commonly referred to as the “album” across all constituencies and external branches.
According to him, the exercise was carried out by committees made up of current and former party executives, as well as representatives of aspirants, to guarantee transparency and build confidence in the process.
