Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has reportedly secured a commanding lead in the ongoing Super Delegates Conference, positioning himself as the frontrunner in the race to become one of the party’s flagbearer aspirants for the 2024 general election.

The Provisional results gathered by Happy 98.9 FM from all 16 regions of Ghana reveal that Dr. Bawumia has garnered an overwhelming majority of support, leaving Kennedy Agyapong and Alan Kyerematen trailing far behind.

As of the latest tally, Dr. Bawumia has secured a remarkable 629 votes, showcasing his widespread appeal and popularity within the party. This substantial lead has positioned him as the frontrunner in the race, ahead of his closest competitors, Kennedy Agyapong and Alan Kyerematen, who have garnered 132 and 95 votes, respectively.

The breakdown of results from the regions reveals an astonishing show of support for Dr. Bawumia, as he claims victory in each of the 16 regions. Notably, the Ashanti Region, traditionally a stronghold for the NPP, has also thrown its weight behind Dr. Bawumia, further solidifying his position as a formidable candidate.

These provisional results signal a remarkable achievement for Dr. Bawumia’s campaign, as he continues to garner momentum in his quest to secure a place as one of the five flagbearer aspirants who will compete in the party’s primaries slated for November this year.
