The Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners has described the invasion of AngloGold Ashanti Mines as unlawful.

According to the association, it is unlawful to trespass one’s concession without the approval of the owners.

In an interview with happy Kasiɛbɔ, the National Communication Director of Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners, Abdul Razak Alhassan condemned the act of the youth claiming that the actions of the youth did not auger well.

On the other hand, the President criticized the Military’s approach of handling the situation that resulted in the demise of eight people. He said the military did not show any act of professionalism because of how they managed the situation.

However the military have indicated in their press statement that the youth were armed but the military should have at least shown professionalism in containing the situation.

He also commended President John john Mahama for ordering investigations into the matter and urging AngloGold Ashanti to take care of the medical bills of the injured individuals and facilitate the funeral arrangements of the deceased.
