The Vice Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Defence and Interior has stressed that his decision to drag the sitting Member of Parliament(MP) for North Tongu Constituency in the Volta Region is to warn his colleague to be wary of his activities on the floor.
He says he is seriously considering dragging the colleague MP to the Privileges Committee of Parliament to serve as a deterrent to the MP.
And For him (Okudzeto-Ablakwa) to be mindful of his actions in the House in relations to the Standing Orders of the House he stressed.
He says his decision is stem from the MP breaching two principles of the House, the Standing Orders and the tenets of the Constitution.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Manysia North Constituency in the Ashanti Region Mr. Collins Owusu Amankwa made this comment on the socio-political show dubbed ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ hosted by Kwame Afrifa Mensah on Accra-based Happy FM.
‘Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa must be warned that his activities in the August house is bringing the image of the House into disrepute’, he said.
He says Mr. Okudzeto-Ablakwa’s actions in the House is becoming unbecoming of an MP and it is about he is told in the face.
How can an MP take an issue that happened some two years ago in Libya to town without doing the necessary check?
He (Ablakwa) may be sleeping or blinded by the ill motive to create fear and panic in the country.
He maintained the allegation by the Libyan Attorney- General that Ghanaians are joining ISIS to fight their government has not been proven so, why should an MP go to town with it?
‘Mr. Okudzeto-Ablakwa must be told to be careful adding that Ghana is safe under president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Ghana is in safe hands and the National apparatus are on top of issues in the country he said
