The Inter-Party Coalition for National Sovereignty comprising of eight opposition parties are set to embark on a demonstration on Thursday, February 07, 2019 to express their dissatisfaction over the brutalities meted out to some individuals by national Security operatives.

The Coalition in a statement said the growing atmosphere of insecurity in the country is overwhelming and must be dealt with.

The protest code-named “Aagbe w)” demo follows the disturbances recorded in the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election last week which led to a shooting incident.

At least 13 persons were injured as a results of the violence while the main opposition NDC pulled out from the race citing insecurity for its men.

The Chairman of the People’s National Convention(PNC), Bernard Mornah believes Ghanaians are living in state of insecurity saying it’s worrying to rather see state security fomenting political unrest in the country.

“This is the first time in history, that it is not party actors who are engaged in a fight where state security would then have to come in and restore law and order; it’s the first time the state security is the one to become the fomentors of the troubles”.

The organizers say the pending march would start off 6:00 am at the Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle through the principal streets of Accra.
