Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu- Ekuful has urged the Speaker of Parliament to sit with the leadership to ensure that the decision of the supreme court is respected, to avoid concluding his tenure with the same contentious atmosphere that marked his election as speaker.
Speaking with journalists after the speaker indefinitely adjourned parliamentary proceedings, Madam Owusu- Ekuful expressed concern about today’s proceedings which she said, does not help the image of Parliament.
‘’I cannot say I am not concerned and we are not an island and I am concerned the image that this 8th parliament is creating for itself as the most chaotic parliament that we have ever seen is wrong, and it is bad and it does not do the image of parliament any good’’.
‘’We call ourselves Honourable Members of Parliament, our actions should also not debate the title that we put on ourselves and our actions must be honourable and not dishonourable’’, she added.
