At a ceremony conducted at their facilities in Asokwa, Kumasi, and attended by a tall list dignitaries in the country, the technology and innovation hub based in Ghana, Open Labs, formerly known as NIIT, launched its certificate programme in fashion and garment construction.

The 6-month certificate programme’s main purpose is to give people who love sewing, design, or modeling the ability to pursue their dreams while incorporating IT.
Speaking to YFM during the launch held on Friday, June 9, 2023, the General Manager in charge of Marketing and Sales, Mrs. Joanna Ivy Abbiw said what distinguishes OpenLabs from competitors in practically all IT-related disciplines, is knowledge and expertise having done it for years. Some of the key elements she also mentioned on how the programme can be positioned and made exceptional to others were the emphasis on practical skills, hands-on learning, and exposure to industry collaborations, which will set their program apart from others already on the market. These elements give the course legitimacy.
