Majority Chief Whip, Rockson Nelson Dafeamakpor, has lauded the Speaker’s maiden Public Financial Management Media Dialogue, describing it as a key program in the ongoing parliamentary reforms.
Speaking at the event, Dafeamakpor expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting that it highlights parliament’s crucial role in public financial management.
He referenced the transformational legislation, which provides clear policy directives for ministries, agencies, and institutions to ensure accountability of the public purse.
Dafeamakpor emphasized the importance of Section 13, which outlines fiscal policy principles, and encouraged parliamentarians to thoroughly review documents, pay attention to figures, and interrogate them.
The Majority Chief Whip urged members to take the forum as a wake-up call, emphasizing that parliament has a critical role to play in ensuring accountability and transparency in public financial management.
