The Health Committee of Parliament has assured nurses and midwives that it will finalize their demands at its next meeting scheduled for July 10.
Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane, told journalists in Parliament that the earlier meeting could not happen due to the unavoidable absence of both the Finance and Health Ministers.
He emphasized the Committee’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association.
“We remain committed to engaging the Nurses and Midwives. The July 10 meeting will be crucial in finalizing their demands.”
Dr. Nawaane also pledged the Committee’s support in advocating for the welfare of nurses and midwives, saying they will work closely with relevant ministries to ensure their demands are met.
“We will push to ensure their concerns are resolved. The Committee is ready to engage and act.”
The assurance comes as the health workers continue to press government for better conditions of service.
