Scores of passengers narrowly avoided disaster when a Yutong bus, registered GT 4346-16, erupted in flames at Gomoa Antseadze in the Central Region.
The bus, carrying 34 passengers enroute from Accra to Bogoso, was suddenly engulfed by fire, prompting immediate intervention from firefighters.
In a statement shared on GNFS Facebook page, emergency responders from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) swiftly brought the blaze under control, successfully extinguishing it within minutes upon arrival.
Though the exact cause remains unknown, the fire destroyed several items, including personal belongings, second-hand clothing, cosmetics, provisions, and artificial hair.
Fortunately, firefighters managed to salvage the bus and recover some of the goods.
Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the source of the fire.
