PFAG forced Majeed Waris and Jonathan Mensah into Black stars call up- Ekow Asmah

Tough-talking freelance veteran journalist, Ekow Asmah, has accused the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) of forcing two of their none performing favorite players onto the Black Stars Technical team.

According to the outspoken journalist, Majeed Waris and Jonathan Mensah did not merit the senior national team call up ahead of the 2019 AFCON which will take place in Egypt.

Speaking to Ohene Bampoe-Brenya on Happy FM’s ‘Anopa Bosuo Sports’, Ekow Asmah stated that “PFAG forced Majeed Waris and Jonathan Mensah into Black stars call up. PFAG made sure these two players were called. What have these players done to merit the provisional call up?” he quizzed

Abdul Majeed Waris, born September 19, 199, is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays for Nantes on loan from Porto. He has made 32 appearances in the 2018/2019 season for his club, scoring 5 goals in the French Ligue 1. Whilst Jonathan Mensah plays for MLS club, Columbus Crew SC, as a defender. In the 2018 season, he made 30 appearances with 13 appearances in the on going 2019 season.

Black Stars head coach, Kwesi Appiah, announce 29-man provisional squad for 2019 AFCON yesterday. The team will leave Accra on Saturday June 1 for pre-tournament preparations in Dubai, ahead of the competition.

The GFA Normalization Committee has also lined up two high profile preparatory matches for the Black Stars against Namibia and South Africa.
